In celebration of Read Across America Week and Dr. Seussโ birthday, weโre inviting all of our students to join in on the fun by dressing up next week!
Books take us on the most amazing adventures โ from silly rhymes to faraway places โ and we canโt wait to celebrate the joy of reading together!
Be sure to check out our flyer for each dayโs special dress-up theme. We canโt wait to see all the creativity, school spirit, and Seuss-tastic outfits!
Oh, the places weโll go when we READ!

Our little scientists went on a โmagnetism walkโ and had a blast exploring the world around them! Equipped with magnets and lots of curiosity, students investigated which objects would attract and which would not.
From discovering hidden magnetic surprises to testing classroom objects, our kinders were learning through hands-on exploration and big smiles!
We love seeing our students think, predict, test, and discover โ science in action! ๐งฒ

Our Pre-K friends celebrated being 100 days brighter today! ๐
They decorated and wore their adorable 100 Days crowns, dressed up for the big celebration, and showed off their creativity and counting skills by making necklaces with 100 Froot Loops!
From counting to crafting, it was a day full of learning, laughter, and lots of colorful fun! We are so proud of how much our little learners have grown in 100 days! ๐
Hereโs to 100 days of learning โ and many more to come!

We are so excited to celebrate our amazing students this Friday at 2:00 p.m.!
Our students have worked so hard this semester, and we canโt wait to recognize their achievements, growth, and accomplishments. Come help us celebrateโfrom academic excellence to outstanding characterโas we honor the many ways our students shine!
Families, we look forward to seeing you there!

Every day in school is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed! When students attend school consistently, they build strong academic skills, develop friendships, and stay on track for future success.
Missing just a few days each month can add up quickly and impact learning. Being present every day helps students:
โ Stay connected to their teachers and classmates
โ Build confidence in all their subjects
โ Develop responsibility and good habits
โ Improve overall academic performance
At Excelsior ISD, we are committed to helping every child succeed โ and that starts with showing up! ๐
Parents, we appreciate your partnership in making daily attendance a priority. Letโs work together to ensure our students are present, prepared, and ready to learn each and every day!

Friday, February 20th marks the end of our fourth six weeks grading period. Students will be dismissed early at 11:30 a.m. Thank you!

๐ School Counselor Appreciation ๐
Today we want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing school counselor, Alanea Edwards!
Ms. Alanea takes such great care of our studentsโ social-emotional well-being, making sure every child feels supported, heard, and valued. She helps ensure studentsโ needs are met, and works closely with staff and families to support the whole child.
Behind the scenes, she also analyzes data and supports instructional decisions to help ensure our students are receiving a high-quality education and the supports they need to succeedโboth academically and emotionally.
We are so thankful for Ms. Alanea's dedication, compassion, and heart for our school community. Thank you for all you doโduring School Counseling Week and every week! ๐

Weโll be out for Winter Break next week! Wishing our families and staff a week filled with rest, laughter, and special moments. Enjoy every minute! Have a safe and joy-filled breakโweโll see you soon! ๐

Excelsior Junior High Beta Club needs your help! We are just a few short days away from convention, and we have lost valuable prep time due to the snow. On top of that, packages we ordered are severely delayed. We still need a few items for our students to have a successful convention.
So, if you have any of these items in your closets or storage that we could borrow for about three weeks, it would really help! They are super random, so bear with me:
Menโs Large blue and white striped T-shirt (large stripes)
5 Santa or elf hats
Tinkerbell shoes
A wagon
A large battery you can plug things into
Fake plants (big ones and lots)
Bubble wrap
Solid blue blankets
Assorted Seashells (for donation please)
Thank you so much for helping our students!

Weโre happy to share that classes will resume tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th! We look forward to welcoming all of our students and staff back and returning to our normal routines. Thank you for your patience and supportโwe canโt wait to see everyone!

Please stay safe and warm!
