💙 School Counselor Appreciation 💙
Today we want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing school counselor, Alanea Edwards!
Ms. Alanea takes such great care of our students’ social-emotional well-being, making sure every child feels supported, heard, and valued. She helps ensure students’ needs are met, and works closely with staff and families to support the whole child.
Behind the scenes, she also analyzes data and supports instructional decisions to help ensure our students are receiving a high-quality education and the supports they need to succeed—both academically and emotionally.
We are so thankful for Ms. Alanea's dedication, compassion, and heart for our school community. Thank you for all you do—during School Counseling Week and every week! 💙

We’ll be out for Winter Break next week! Wishing our families and staff a week filled with rest, laughter, and special moments. Enjoy every minute! Have a safe and joy-filled break—we’ll see you soon! 💙

Excelsior Junior High Beta Club needs your help! We are just a few short days away from convention, and we have lost valuable prep time due to the snow. On top of that, packages we ordered are severely delayed. We still need a few items for our students to have a successful convention.
So, if you have any of these items in your closets or storage that we could borrow for about three weeks, it would really help! They are super random, so bear with me:
Men’s Large blue and white striped T-shirt (large stripes)
5 Santa or elf hats
Tinkerbell shoes
A wagon
A large battery you can plug things into
Fake plants (big ones and lots)
Bubble wrap
Solid blue blankets
Assorted Seashells (for donation please)
Thank you so much for helping our students!

We’re happy to share that classes will resume tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th! We look forward to welcoming all of our students and staff back and returning to our normal routines. Thank you for your patience and support—we can’t wait to see everyone!

Please stay safe and warm!

Thank you for your service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to our students and families. Our school is stronger because of your hard work and commitment. We appreciate all that you do—today and every day!

Due to a gas tanker blocking the main entrance to the building, we will be operating on a two-hour delayed start today. The tanker was involved in a fire last night and remains at the entrance, creating a safety concern.
🚌 Bus routes will run two hours later than usual
🚗 Student drop-off will begin at 9:00 AM
🍳 Breakfast will be served upon arrival
📘 Classes will start at 9:30 AM
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.
We will continue to keep families informed as the situation develops.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Due to a high level of illness affecting both students and staff, school will be closed for the remainder of this week. In an effort to protect the health and well-being of our school community and to ensure that students and staff are healthy for the upcoming holiday break, all activities and events are canceled for the remainder of the week.
This decision was made with the safety of our students, staff, and families as our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take this precautionary step.
Thank you for your continued support, and we wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday break.
Sincerely,
Excelsior ISD Administration
